DESCRIPTION
Naval rests on the kind and sunny side of the Sierra de Arbe. It was for this reason, and because they had salt water springs, that it was a key and coveted place in ancient times.
The aromatic mountain and dry ravines make us dream of a distant south, Berber.
It was an example of harmonious coexistence of Muslims, Christians and Jews. Pottery and clay was its other great industry. Everyone needed vessels and salt. Everyone knew Naval.
We will pass by the salt mines of Rolda that are still working,
and we will return along the Llastre river, semi-dry.
TERRAIN
gravel tracks in general. We will see gypsum outcrops as well.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Visit the Rolda salt mines and the alfolí (old salt store) in the Plaza de Naval.
