DESCRIPTION
Two of the valleys of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, which we are going to visit on our road bike.
We have chosen to do Añisclo through the Vió pass, but if we want to soften the route we can do it inside the canyon. Through the pass we will have better panoramic views, while inside the canyon we will go through a gorge like few others we are going to find. Vió is an irregular pass that combines demanding sections, especially at the beginning, with false flats. Once we have reached the top, a short descent will take us to its continuation, the Fanlo pass, which only gets harder at the end.
From Sarvisé, the route gradually climbs up to Broto, and then to Torla. From here, and only when the road is also accessible to vehicles, we can climb up to the Pradera de Ordesa, the start of the most famous valley in the Pyrenees and a perfect example of a U-shaped glacial valley. The climb is not very steep except for a couple of kilometres at 6-7% and will be short given the marvellous scenery that surrounds us.
Fountains and bars along most of the route
The section between Fanlo and Sarvisé runs through the forest of La Pardina del Señor, one of the most beautiful mixed forests in the Pyrenees, especially in autumn.
As variants we have divided the route in two, Añisclo area and Ordesa area for those who are looking for shorter routes.
TERRAIN
The road to the Ordesa meadow is closed during the summer and long weekends.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid winter
