DESCRIPTION

A route through the oldest part of Sobrarbe, the Biello (old) Sobrarbe or Tierra Buxo, so called because of the amount of boxwood in the mountains.
This route will take us up the Serrablo pass, which has been climbed several times by the Vuelta a España peloton (it is worth doing the final 2km up to the top of the pass, not included in the basic route) and will take us to the source of the river Vero.
If you have time, we recommend that you visit the villages along the road, as they have their own charm, even some that are a bit far away, such as Sarsa de Surta, Santa María de la Nuez or Santa María de Buil (the latter is a 2km climb) and if you have enough energy left, climb the Guaso tower, a fantastic viewpoint over the Pyrenees that you reach after a few short but criminal ramps.
The first part of the road is very lonely. Very hot in summer, so bring water!

If you feel like it, do the variant, which runs almost all the way through Biello Sobrarbe, arriving via Lecina to the hidden Betorz, a place of almost mystical beauty and tranquillity.

TERRAIN

Between Serrablo and Las Bellostas the road has potholes and gravel, be careful!

RECOMMENDATIONS

All year round, except in very cold winters.
