DESCRIPTION
The “classic” par excellence in Sobrarbe, one of the most beautiful and toughest routes that can be done in the Aragonese Pyrenees.
We will ride through two great nature reserves, the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park and the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, while we will travel on secondary roads through wild landscapes of great beauty among villages that have been frozen in time.
Don’t be fooled by the percentages of the mountain passes, as they hide some very tough ramps and until the very end there will hardly be a single flat metre. The route is more demanding than its almost 180km and 3800mt of elevation gain say.
Anything we say about this route will be too little, so just a couple of tips: take it easy and watch out for the Troncedo pass, which is a bear trap.
If it gets too hard, we can cut it short at certain points, but it is a “classic” that, although it is not one of the 5 Monuments, every self-respecting cyclist should ride.
You can find fountains or bars in many villages, but it is better to go well loaded, especially in the hot season.
TERRAIN
Be careful with the descent of the Fanlo pass, it is steep and curved.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid winter
