DESCRIPTION
A lap that will put us to the test with two of the toughest passes in Sobrarbe.
Puértolas is a 7km climb through pine forests and pastures that always maintains very constant percentages of around 7%, until you reach the village of the same name, a fabulous viewpoint over the Cinca valley, under the slopes of Castillo Mayor and next to the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park.
Also close to the Park, but on the other side of the Yaga river canyon, is the ascent to the beautiful village of Tella. With almost 8km at an average of 8%, it is one of the best known climbs in the area. It starts with 4km of very hard climbs at an average of almost 9%, but after Cortalaviña it eases off to 6-7%. A little more than 1km before Tella, in an area of meadows, we will find a megalithic monument to our left, the dolmen of Tella.
Take water with you, as there are few fountains/bars on the climbs. In Escalona there are,
If we do not have much time we can do only one of the two climbs, and in case we have enough, we can do the variant that extends the route in order to visit the nearby villages of Escuain and Revilla through quite broken but spectacular roads.
TERRAIN
Be careful on the descents, there are many sharp bends with reduced visibility, don't run!
RECOMMENDATIONS
Avoid cold winters
